Vega was asked to provide a deep technical review of Weyerhaeuser content management systems
Weyerhaeuser is a forest products company that manages over 6.4 million acres of private commercial forestland, with a long-term license on 13.9 million acres of forestland. A dynamic and multi-faceted corporation, Weyerhaeuser needed to make changes to its structure after years of growth. This necessitated changes in the corporate ECM structure, which involved splitting and combining systems to match the growing company’s changes.
Vega was asked to provide a deep technical review of Weyerhaeuser content management systems and make a recommendation on the best method to consolidate, and then separate, the necessary content and data. Using our interchange tools, we were able to provide Weyerhaeuser with exactly what was needed. The result was an IBM FileNet P8 system devoted to a new company entity, and a retained IMS system to service future growth in the core business.
Our depth of experience with system evaluation and migration made this a routine process for Vega, and thus for our client. We look forward to serving Weyerhaeuser in the future.
